The origins of tic-tac-toe can be traced to ancient civilizations dating back to ancient Egypt and the Roman Empire. Taamaa’s translation of the game uses vibrant coloured graphics. Clear acrylic playing pieces are housed in a balsa wood box with the playing board on the reverse of a bonded leather lid, which is an eco-friendly material made from leather discards.

The name “tic-tac-toe” emerged in the early 19th century in England. The term likely originated from the sound made by players when marking their moves on the board.

Leather and wood can be wiped gently with a soft white lint free cloth. Avoid hard chemicals, detergents, cleaning solvents, varnish, abrasive cleaners, soaps and sharp objects. Avoid direct exposure to sunlight, dryness and heat.
